Colonoscopy and Other Procedure Costs in Singapore

For eligible Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents, a colonoscopy is Medisave-claimable, and an Integrated Shield plan may cover a large part of the cost. The final figure depends on what is done on the day, so we give you a clear personalised estimate, including what you can claim, before you decide.
BUILD NOTE: pricing approach set to Option B. We explain what drives the cost and how claims work, and invite a personalised quote, rather than publishing fixed figures. Revisit only if MOH or legal confirm exact prices may be advertised under the HCSA Advertisement Regulations (Option C, in progress).

What Affects the Cost of Any Procedure

Four things move the final figure, whichever procedure you are having. We confirm all of them with you beforehand.

FactorWhy it affects the cost
What is actually doneA diagnostic scope costs less than one where a polyp is removed or tissue is treated. The plan can change during the procedure based on what is found
AnaesthesiaSedation or general anaesthesia is provided by an anaesthetist and billed separately
Facility and length of stayDay surgery costs less than a procedure needing an overnight or longer stay
PathologyIf tissue is removed or biopsied, laboratory testing is added

Colonoscopy Cost

Colonoscopy is the procedure patients ask about most, so it is worth setting out specifically. The cost depends on whether it is diagnostic only or includes polyp removal, the sedation and day-surgery facility used, and whether a biopsy is sent for testing.

Because polyps are often found and removed during the same session, a colonoscopy that begins as a diagnostic procedure can become a therapeutic one. That changes the surgical code, the Medisave limit that applies, and the final bill. We explain this before you go in rather than after.

Other Procedures

The same principles apply across the procedures Dr Chen performs. Each has its own Medisave withdrawal limit and surgical code:

What You Can Claim

Most of the cost is usually claimable for eligible patients:

Cover can differ between a procedure done to investigate symptoms and the same procedure done as screening in someone with no symptoms. If you are booking a screening test, ask us to check your position before the day.

BUILD NOTE: confirm the applicable TOSP surgical codes and current Medisave withdrawal limits with Dr Chen or clinic admin so they can be stated factually (these are public MOH figures, not advertised prices).

Fees and Claims: Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a colonoscopy cost in Singapore?

The cost depends on whether it is diagnostic or includes polyp removal, the sedation and day-surgery facility used, and any pathology if a biopsy is taken. For eligible Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents it is Medisave-claimable, and an Integrated Shield plan may cover a large part of the cost. Contact us for a personalised quote.

Is a colonoscopy claimable from Medisave?

Yes. For eligible Singapore Citizens and PRs, colonoscopy is Medisave-claimable up to the withdrawal limit set by MOH for the procedure. If polyps are removed, a different surgical code and limit may apply.

What about gastroscopy, piles treatment or surgery?

The same approach applies. Each procedure has its own Medisave withdrawal limit and surgical code, and Integrated Shield cover varies by plan and ward type. Tell us which procedure you are considering and we will give you an estimate for your situation.

How do I get a quote?
